Several Weeks
ago, an eStoreMenu client purchased a Portable
Commercial Blind Hemmer used in the drapery industry
from a company located in
California through an auction on eBay. The seller
informed the buyer that it only accepted Cash, Check
or Money Order. After reviewing the feed back section
of eBay for the seller, she was satisfied that the
multitude of "excellent" ratings
demonstrated that the seller was legitimate. (actual
auction with info)
After winning
the auction, the eStoreMenu Client concluded the sale
and sent a check. When the machine was delivered, any
and all instructions were missing, even though the
seller had posted that the instruction booklet was
included.
So, you say,
"What has an Instruction Booklet to do with when
or when not to invest with an eBay Seller?"
Well, this is
when it was discovered that the seller was and is not
one we would recommend to you because...
The Instruction
Booklet was important to running the machine. In fact,
there was a warning NOT to run the machine before
reading the instructions. When the client called the seller
, she was informed it was a mistake, and then was told
the book was mailed.
After another
week or so and ENDLESS calls and e mails that were
ignored, she SEARCHED the internet and even called
several REPUTABLE sewing machine dealers only to
discover that there was no MORSE company that
manufactured the product. Several reputable sewing
machine companies informed this writer that Morse was
no longer in business and that the machine was a
Chinese Knock Off that merely had a logo sticker with
the name MORSE!
The end result?
The client has a 300.00 Blind Hemmer she cannot use
because there is not an available instruction
manual.
In addition,
though the seller ADVERTISED a
***1
YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY***
She discovered
there is no "factory" and upon closer
reading, saw that this "dealer" protected
himself and his company by posting the following
(errors in spelling by seller on ebay auction :
| "All
sales are final. Any warranty work will be
taken care of as promissed. excluding shipping
and handling fees and labor fees.
Please make all checks or money orders payable
to "A & J's Vac and Sew". Please
do not make out to my name or my eBay user
name. Send payments to: 537 Mchenry ave.
Modesto, CA 95354." |
Who is this
company?
Seller
Dr. Morse
A&J's Vac & Sew
537 McHenry Ave
Modesto, California. 95354
1.209.523.9487
So, what do
we look for in a seller on eBay?
1- For any
large purchase, the BUYER should CHECK OUT the company
FIRST before sending a check and NOT RELY on the FEED
BACK section of eBay! In fact, one should call and not
purchase without KNOWING that:
-
the company
that advertisies has a genuine location
-
if it is a
used or personal sale, that the seller has a
legitimate phone number and that the person
RESIDES in the usa.
-
to avoid,
when ever possible, the use of checks and rely on
credit card sales when ever possible.
2- In this
auction, the seller, Dr. Morse dr.morse@earthlink.net,
advertises a Portable Commercial Blind Hemmer
manufactured by "MORSE". He further
advertises that the 300.00 machine has a One Year
FACTORY WARRANTY..Yet, when one SEARCHES the internet
for MORSE they discover that there is NO MORSE COMPANY
that manufactures a BLIND HEMMER
-
be sure you
search out the product and discover the actual
selling prices for the item when ever possible
-
be sure you
KNOW if a product is current, and that the company
actually has facilities for repairs and warrenty.
In other words,
companies like A&J's Vac & Sew, through one
"Dr. Morse", are literally ripping
clients off by:
-
lying in the
advertisement
-
stating that
"factory" warranties exist while
publishing notices that do not seem to be part of
the actual sale/auction.
-
advertising
a "Name Brand" as if it were an actual
known and in production company.
So,
avoid Dr. Morse and A&J's Vac & Sew
537 McHenry Ave Modesto, California. 95354
1.209.523.9487 and
others whom prey on the unsuspecting by REVIEWING and
SEARCHING before you place a bid!
UPDATE April 7, 2003!
When our client did not receive
the instruction booklet and was told that
there was none, and further,, that the sale was
final.. she posted a negative feed back about not
receiving the instructions. Then, after another several
days we posted the facts herein eStoremenu and the
seller then (" dr.morse
" ) read our article and posted the most absurd
and unreal response to our clients feeback!

Thats just wrong |
Can YOU BELIEVE this
company.. can you?? I am stunned!!!
here is what we sent them:
To whom
it may concern:
We have
just read a post you made in your feed back area on
e bay. We would inform you that your use of
statements like you made are not only irresponsible,
but vulgar and uncalled for!
Please
be advised that you will NOT close the press. That
what we have written is correct and that we have all
the facts.
Further,
to place a post as you did accusing the wonderful
woman whom paid in full for the item and only NICELY
requested what was purchased is a further
demonstration of what your company is about.
In fact,
we at eStoreMenu and EZnewsTV feel that you are
actively attempting to cause harm to the reputation
and business of an individual who did nothing more
than HONESTLY invest in a product that you not only
lied about, but that you are targeting her rather
than us. those whom are posting to the world the
facts of your fraudulent business practices.
Please
be advised that we will make every effort to notify
all we can to your incredibly juvenile reaction to a
simple and kind request for the successful
conclusion of a sale that you not only out-right
lied about, but that you have not completed.

Again, do not take my word
for it, read above and remember, we do NOT recommend

the buyer for postng what was a feedback that she
has tried to get the instructionbooklet?? and what
about the vulger reply by "Dr. Morse"? as
you can read, it is an imagination on the part of
this company and simply is a way to threaten and
cause harm!
